We already know Bengaluru is one of the most bustling cities in India as it is located in the middle of two states – Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. But have you ever wondered if it is possible for someone to carry out a relocation from their current residence to another locality within the city? It is if they have the necessary documents and meet the normal requirements. The initial phase of lockdown has been lifted for Bengaluru on Wednesday (Aug 25). So it is now legal for residents to carry out personal travel arrangements within the city. However, before you move out it is advisable to understand if it would be possible for you to carry out such an undertaking in terms of relocation charges, including the requirement of a vehicle for transportation and ensuring living facilities
When it comes to lockdown, you have to be very careful. You have to be aware of your safety and security. You have to know how to ensure that there will be no disruptions in services, public amenities or facilities provided by public establishments or agencies. Any disruption could lead to serious consequences and could even attract the wrath of law officials who would have the authority to order lockdown in certain situations. In such cases relocation of an employee from one locality to another within the city may be permissible provided the arrangements are made following government guidelines and based on specific needs of the business entity.
Is it allowed during lockdown? If there is any movement within the city limits, then yes. The lockdown will continue even if the functional normally is off. You are free to move about and get services from vendors outside of the lockdown area. But it will be illegal for you to sell or produce goods within that area as well. It will also be illegal for any person to move from one place to another within the city limits of Bengaluru without prior permission from the municipal authorities.
If you live in Bengaluru and have friends who move to Delhi, you will have to figure out how to get along with them when they are back in their respective homes. Your houses may be on different streets and you will have to navigate your way through the traffic if you want to visit them again. This is not allowed during lockdown.
The police have declared that no house moving within the city limits will be permitted without prior permission from the Commissioner of Police (CP), who will issue a special pass to your resident. If you are wondering if it is possible to commute within the city by public transport while in lockdown, it is not possible as per the rules that govern movement of persons within the limits of a city.
